On 14th January, Diana Parkes and Hetti Barkworth-Nanton held a virtual meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner and the Secretary of State for Justice, Shabana Mahmood MP.
The pair were praised by the Deputy Prime Minister for all their important campaigning over the years around domestic homicide and abuse.
Speaking about the meeting, Diana and Hetti said: “We would like to thank the Deputy Prime Minster and the Lord Chancellor for taking the time out of their schedules to meet with us.
Ahead of our meeting, we sent over a number of important areas of discussion including domestic homicide and licence conditions. As a result, both the Deputy Prime Minster and the Lord Chancellor were keen to engage with us and listened intently as we set out our reasons why urgent change is needed.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to their officials for helping to organise this meeting. Today’s meeting would not have been possible had we not met the Deputy Prime Minister at the 10 Downing Street reception for the Pride of Britain Awards last year.”
