Diana Parkes and Hetti Barkworth-Nanton attend reception at Clarence House to mark 21st anniversary of SafeLives

April 2, 2025
On 1st April, Diana and Hetti were invited to Clarence House to attend a reception hosted by Her Majesty Queen Camilla to celebrate the 21st anniversary of SafeLives – a domestic abuse charity and one of Her Majesty’s Patronages.
The pair were among a guest list consisting of survivors of domestic abuse, frontline professionals, and supporters of the charity.
Founded in 2004, SafeLives is a UK-wide charity dedicated to ending domestic abuse, for everyone and for good. In 2024, the charity trained more than 11,500 professionals and first responders and reached almost 90,000 adult and 100,000 child survivors through programmes designed and delivered with partners.
Reflecting on the reception, Diana said: “It was an amazing reception hosted by Her Majesty Queen Camilla to celebrate 21 years of SafeLives. The reception brought together people who have experienced domestic abuse and those who are working to eliminate domestic abuse. Listening to stories of horror but at the same time hearing how much work is going on in tackling this horrific abuse shows that there is hope for the future in truly tackling domestic abuse once and for all.”

Hetti Barkworth-Nanton said: “It was an incredible honour to attend Her Majesty Queen Camilla’s reception at Clarence House. Marking 21 years of SafeLives was not just a celebration of their tireless work, but a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come – and how far we still have to go – in tackling domestic abuse. The Queen’s genuine compassion and commitment to this cause were deeply moving. You could feel the impact SafeLives has had in every conversation and every story shared.”
