In Autumn 2023, despite brutally bludgeoning Jo to death, Robert Brown will automatically be released from prison after serving only 12 years. Robert Brown is a dangerous man and he cannot be released.
The Joanna Simpson Foundation, led by the tireless efforts of Jo’s Mum, Diana Parkes, and friend, Hetti Barworth-Nanton, are campaigning to stop his automatic release and asking the Rt Hon Alex Chalk to enact his powers as Minister of Justice to do so.
Garnering over 300 media stories since March, Jo’s story has captured the public’s attention and outrage – but there’s much more to do. On the 15th of June, the Joanna Simpson Foundation hosted an exclusive screening in Portcullis House, Whitehall of Season 2 Episode 1 of Netflix’s ‘When Missing Turns to Murder’ exploring the failings and atrocities of Jo’s case.
The event featured a Q & A panel session with Diana Parkes and Hetti Barkworth-Nanton. Guest speakers included the Dame Priti Patel and Sir Robert Buckland.
You can watch Season 2 Episode 1 of Netflix’s ‘When Missing Turns to Murder’ on Netflix now.
Thank you to all of those who attended the Foundation’s event.
